I am certified in both Special Education and General Education with an M.S. from Bank Street College of Education. I have over twenty years of experience in the field of education, which includes classroom teaching and private consulting. I offer the following services.
Individual tutoring for your child. A completely unique and individualized educational plan designed specifically for your child based on their learning style. I offer support in reading, writing, math, organization, and test preparation for 3rd and 4th grade standardized tests. My twenty years of experience includes working with children from three to twelve years of age.
CPS is an approach to working with children with challenging behavior. My services will offer the family, which includes the parents and child, a way to work together to pursue the expectation of the adult while avoiding or minimizing the undesirable behavior.
I believe that empowering parents through education and support is a key component to a child’s success at school. My parent education curriculum includes understanding the stages of learning and development, how to negotiate with school administration, teachers and staff and creating harmonious IEP meetings. This service is available in person or over the phone.
These sessions can be divided into different components. First I would work with your child and then meet with you. This experience offers you the comfort of knowing exactly what works for your child educationally and how you can incorporate that into your everyday life. This package can be combined with two or three of my services outlined above.
